How to Join our Association Isn't it time to invest in the industry that serves you? On behalf of President, Bill Miller and the entire Board of Directors, we invite you to consider membership in the Mountain States Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (MSLBMDA). As you consider membership, please take a look at what we’ve been doing: · National and local lobbying every year on issues that directly impact YOUR livelihood: Our priority on a national level this year is the Innocent Sellers Fairness Act that was reintroduced in February. Simply put this critical legislation only holds sellers responsible in proportion to any their wrongdoing and frees them from liability when they have done nothing wrong with respect to the sale of a legal product. On local levels, the MSLBMDA is involved in Green Building Issues, Timber supply, Forest Health and Access, Bankruptcy Reform, Estate Tax, Regulatory Reform, Construction Defect and other critical issues that impact the industry. · Providing education and training opportunities for you and your staff to help you build and retain an effective team of employees: Training for employees and management alike, on every aspect of the business, is available through the MSLBMDA. We also host a Products Expo and Buying Show each year in Denver. It is the premiere industry event in the Mountain States region. · Offering a pallet of services to help your business prosper: Property/Casualty, Workers Comp, and a full line of business insurance offered through Federated Insurance; Forklift Training Kits; Business forms and Advertising Specialty products; Management Reports and Surveys; Reference Manuals and Educational Tools. Plus, the opportunity to network with customers and peers, and additional exposure through advertising opportunities is an invaluable benefit to membership in the MSLBMDA. · Reaching out to the community through hands on involvement: Feeding homeless teens through Urban Peak, providing over 5,000 trees to 4-H clubs to help with replanting efforts in areas devastated by summer wildfires; providing scholarship opportunities for young people to attend the Easter Seals Camp at Rocky Mountain Village; and more! In addition, a portion of our retail member dues goes directly to the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association so, if you are a retail member, you automatically become a member of the National association as well. The MSLBMDA dues structure now includes a $5,000 maximum cap. For companies representing four or more locations, a flat rate of $500 for retailers, $450 for suppliers (which is our minimum dues) per location applies, with a maximum cap of $5,000. I realize this is only a brief synopsis of the association and what we have to offer you as a member, but it is our sincere hope that you will consider joining the MSLBMDA in 2007. Join Now
